Iliushechkina/Maisuradze teamed up in April 2006 and were single skaters before. Iliushechkina started to skate at age four in an outdoor ice rink next to her kindergarden. Maisuradze started skating at age three and a half in his hometown of Lipetsk and moved to St. Petersburg when he was 12 in order to continue his career. Maisuradze's idols in skating are Elena Berezhnaya/Anton Sikhuralidze and Alexei Yagudin. Iliushechkina's role model is Aliona Savchenko, and her favorite couple are Aliona Savchenko and Robin Szolkowy.
