Riazanova/Guerreiro teamed up in summer 2006. Guerreiro was born in Australia as his parents were working there before moving to Moscow end of 2005. He holds dual citizenship. His mother Svetlana Liapina was a competitive ice dancer and a World Junior silver (1985) and bronze (1984) medalist with partner Georgi Sur. She is coaching at Guerreiro's club now. His father is Portugese. Riazanova's father Vladimir was a member of the National Russian Rugby team.
