Navarro/Bommentre teamed up in 2005. Navarro began skating at the age of three because her mother teaches skating. Her mother Lisa competed nationally as a pairs skater and her father John is a eight-degree black belt in karate. Bommentre took up skating at age six because his doctor recommended it for his asthma.
