Meier is the first Lady from Switzerland to medal at Europeans in 26 years when she took the silver in 2007. Denise Biellmann was European Champion in 1981. Meier hails from a skating family. Her mother and sister both skate in a synchronized team, and her mother is also the president of the local skating club. Her sister is a two-time Swiss Champion and World competitor with the "Starlight Team". Meier is coached by her aunt Eva Fehr. Her father, uncle and two cousins play ice hockey. Her father is the president of the local hockey club.
